Support For Families in Fort McMurray
Dear Parents of Sturgeon Heights,
In response to the tragedy currently happening in Fort McMurray, the Sturgeon Heights World Changers and Leadership Class are jumping into action. The two groups are raising much needed money for the Alberta Red Cross. We are asking you two be generous as news reports have already indicated that this is the worst fire tragedy to face an Alberta community in our provinces history. You can help in the following 3 ways:
1 - Change Drive - Send in your lose change! We hope to fill 5 Culligan Bottles with change! The class that brings in the most will get a special surprise.
2 - Bottle Drive - We ask that you collect your recyclables and drop them off on Saturday between the hours of 10am and 2pm. If you are unable to meet those hours and still wish to donate your recycling proceeds, you can take your bottles in and bring your refund to the school by Monday at noon.
3 - Food Bank Drive - When the dust settles, the communitys most vulnerable population is going to be in desperate need. We are hoping to bring in a good amount of non-perishable food items that can be donated to the Fort McMurray Food Bank.
We are also working on plans for a Family Movie Night and the proceeds from that will also go to the Alberta Red Cross. We thank you for your generosity in advance. If you would like to make any additional small donations, you can certainly send them in and we will compile all funds and send it on to Alberta Red Cross from the Sturgeon Heights School Community.
Any questions, can be directed to Corey Conroy or Kaitlin Eyestone.
