Information about a concern at Bellerose
It has come to our attention that Bellerose High School entered a lockdown this afternoon on Monday, April 9th. Further, the RCMP attended the school to ensure all students and staff were safe and secure. After contacting our neighboring school divisions, we are able to confirm this, and that Muriel Martin and J.J. Nearing entered a “Hold and Secure” state which ensures the outside doors are locked and everyone is accounted for.
As you know, our school is locked during the day as part of our regular protocols to keep children safe. As an additional measure today, we asked that all physical education classes hold their activities inside this afternoon.
We have great confidence in our RCMP officers and at this point they have not reached out to us to ask that we put any additional safety measures in place for children or for dismissal at the end of day today. We are actively monitoring the situation and will inform all parents should anything change for our students here at Sturgeon Heights.
Principal. Sturgeon Heights School.
