The mission of the Sturgeon School Division is to ensure that all students achieve success in the programs of study offered in our schools.

Use of Cell Phones / iPods

Students are not to have cell phones and cameras at school. These items are a distraction to the learning process and are occasionally detrimental to the purposes of schools. These items will be confiscated and returned to parents / guardians. Ongoing violations may result in further sanctions.

If a student requires access to a telephone, the telephone in the office is to be used, with an appropriate note from the teacher.

Students are also advised that there is limited use of iPods, MP3 Players, etc. iPods and MP3 players will be used for educational purposes only in conjunction with an Individual Program Plan or as outlined by the teacher. If a student is found using any item in a distractive way, the unit will be confiscated and kept in the office and returned at the end of the day or at the discretion of administration.
